Donald Mckays last Clipper ship.

Life[]

Glory of The Seas has the sad honor of being Donald Mckay's final clipper ship. She was built in 1869. She dashed from New York to San Francisco in 94 days. Unfortanetly, Mckay was so much in debt, he had to sell her right after she docked in California. Thereafter, she made ocean trips until 1900. Then she was put into service as lumber and coal carrier. In 1910, she was converted into a salmon storeship and was burnt in 1923.

Description[]

Glroy of The Seas was an elegant clipper. She set double topsails and a skysail. She was 240 feet long. Her figurehead was rather immodet: a woman in bronze robes, and overexposuring.
